Are you ready to embark on a trip to the secluded, coral-rich waters of Triton Bay? Triton Bay is one of the most remote dive spots in Indonesia, so dives there are hard to come by, making them once-in-a lifetime experiences. Get ready for your trip to Triton Bay with these four dive preparation tips.

Double-Check Your Diving Insurance Coverage

Triton Bay is a secluded diving location with very few visitors, so diving insurance doesn’t always cover it. Diving insurance can save you a lot of money on expensive diving emergencies, from medical treatment to equipment damage or loss. Furthermore, diving insurance is mandatory for travel on the Dewi Nusantara, so make sure your insurance will cover your dive in Triton Bay.

Obtain the Necessary Travel Documents and Permits

Without the appropriate travel documentation, you won’t be able to get into Indonesia from abroad. Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration requires travelers to present valid passports with at least two blank pages and a 30-day visa for applicable citizenships.

In order to dive, you’ll also need to show proof of diving certification. The Dewi Nusantara requires all guests to show proof of diving certification before they can get in the water. Obtaining the proper documents and permits will ensure you’re able to legally travel to and around Indonesia and fully participate in your Triton Bay adventure.

Pack Light

The luxurious Dewi Nusantara liveaboard, like most vessels, has cabins with storage limitations. Packing light ensures you can travel with ease and take up minimal space. To help you pack lighter, our team provides air cylinders, torches, and weights onboard, leaving you room to pack your:

  • Wet suit
  • Mask and fins
  • Diving regulator
  • Dive computers
  • Buoyancy compensation devices
  • Depth and pressure gauges

We also offer diving equipment rentals to help you meet luggage weight restrictions on your flight.

You’ll also want to pack light attire. Triton Bay has tropical temperatures, and on average, the water temperature falls in between 80 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. Pack a warm-water dive suit and tropical attire.

Invest in an Underwater Camera

Triton Bay is home to breathtaking coral gardens, endemic marine life, and bountiful biodiversity. With this multitude of one-of-a-kind sights, an underwater camera is a must for your Triton Bay dive. Plus, since the area is secluded with minimal tourist interactions, you’re bound to capture quality content while diving.
